What it does
Inside Cutroom
Cutroom is the edit bay. It takes the mechanical first pass so the editor’s time goes to the story.
Inside DaVinci Resolve
Cutroom opens as a panel in Resolve and works with your project and clips. There is no new editor to learn.
The transcript
Interviews become a timestamped transcript, split by speaker. Name the speakers, search the words, and star the moments you want.
Silences and retakes
Find the dead air and the repeated takes, and plan a cleaned-up timeline from them.
Clean-up report and chapters
A report of silences, retakes and filler words, with chapters and markers you can export.
Captions
Export captions as SRT or VTT.
A first assembly
Lay out a first assembly from the transcript, and keep saved versions as you work.
Export anywhere
Send the assembly to Resolve, or export XML or EDL for Premiere and Final Cut.
Story arc and short clips
See the shape of the story across three acts, and find short clips worth cutting for social.
Camera switching for podcasts
Assign a camera to each speaker and switch angles as the conversation moves.
